Walking

Over my years of teaching I have tried to understand whether there are some fundamental rules (as in so many disciplines) that could help learn the “art” of walking bass gradually and quickly, without necessarily starting from chord arpeggios and without a long, exhausting apprenticeship on the bandstand, during which some people might get discouraged, since progress can be slow and hard to see in the short term.
